Winter Mums, 5"x5", oil on panel
I picked up a small pot of yellow mums yesterday, thinking of the line in You've Got Mail where Kathleen says "I love daisies. ... Don't you think that daisies are the friendliest flowers?" These aren't quite daisies and friendly wasn't what I was going for, but they cheered me up. This was a fun painting, small enough to go quickly, and lots of knife use makes it even more fun.
Now I have officially painted 10% of my 30 paintings in January. The rest should just roll, right?
One of my daughters was especially encouraging today. She said "They don't all have to be masterpieces, Mom. Just have fun! Do an abstract or a knife painting!" So I did.
